Does it ever drive you crazy just how fast the night changes?---------- the blonde had been pushed from the seat next to him about halfway to the party when she would not actually give directions on where he needed to drop her off. he had been professional in getting her help for her car but giving her a ride had been a little extra on his end and a bit out of character. hunter really only cared for two or three people in his entire life and only one had stuck around and filled his only friend role. the gang members were not friends, they were just resources. he needed them to fight and to make money, to train and to hone the skills that he was bred to have. he was made to be a fighter, it was just something in his blood and maybe even imbedded further. the blonde had been too vague about where she was going and hunter had stopped the car, the tires screeching, and had told her to get out. his words were laced with his annoyance and she had agreed, opening the door and sliding out of the seat. he took off after that and had been jamming along to his old rock and roll music for the last couple of miles. something about the blonde stuck in his mind but he would not let strings develop for anyone. he had turned around twice and then changed his mind and now he was parked in front of the bar that the gang and felix wanted to meet at. it was a dive bar, it was one where someone could pick up a cheap thrill and though hunter had no desire to drink anymore, he knew that he needed to at least make an appearance and nurse some kind of alcohol. giving a deep sigh, he grabbed for his leather jacket and put it over the white v-cut shirt that he was wearing from the previous night. grumbling, he pulled the door open and walked through the door without even a glance to the guard at the front door who did not dare to challenge someone with hunter’s reputation. three steps in and hunter heard his name being called, giving a scan of the crowd to see it was his leader calling out to him.
”my girl is running late, something about her car…’ was the first thing out of felix’ mouth and hunter just nodded before turning his head to let out another sigh. he really had no desire to meet his leader’s girlfriend as hunter assumed she would be some slut with a low cut shirt and some kind of short skirt. most of the girls in here matched that description and one was currently running her hand across hunter’s shoulder blades in an attempt to be seductive, ”fuck off.”, grabbing her wrist and giving her a light shove away, shaking his head. he did not want anything more to do with these girls. ”so is this party for your girl?..”, he trailed off as he tried to keep a conversation going to make him look engaged. in seemed that when he looked busy, it was less attention on him. ”nah, this is a celebration for beating those brumley boys last week.”, which hunter gave a nod to. he had been at that fight, he had helped win that fight and the memories were still fresh which caused a small dose of adrenaline to run through his system. ”ah there is my girl!”, felix was now looking past hunter and toward the door which hunter had no real interest in meeting her. felix abandoned him and hunter decided that he just might need a beer. moving to the bar, he gave the familiar bartender a quick glance and was given his favourite beer. wrapping his hand around it, hunter felt a unwell feeling that made his stomach churn but he ignored it, washing it down with the beer. ”hunter man, meet my girl!”, which meant that felix was back and this time, he had company. giving a roll of his eyes as his back was still turned, hunter quickly turned his head and then his body to look at the familiar blonde. that queasy feeling came back up, ”oh.”, he mumbled, taking a larger swig of his drink. ”mitch! you prick, i need to talk to you!”, felix letting go of ‘his girl’ and moving away from the two, leaving hunter in an uncomfortable situation. ”so you’re felix’s girl..”, he commented with a scoff, finishing off the beer and ordering another. it tasted like water with the aftermath of his hangover lingering and hunter felt like he was going to need a few more of these to get through this party.

i feel hazy,
why is everything black and white? i feel dizzy, like my head is full of fucking dynamite. i don't get it, i'm not drunk. a million people in the place and there you are. and i was like, hi my name is whatever you call me----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Getting kicked out of the mechanic's truck had put a pretty big damper on Lily's already agitated mood. She was in no kind of mood to be walking however many miles in the dark dressed in this particular outfit. Granted, this town was pretty safe so far as criminal activity goes, and she was like royalty in the local gang's standpoint, The odds of anything bad happening to her were slim to none, but there was still a chance that something could go horribly wrong. Felix and his band of followers had just settled some score with whatever other local gang they were having issues with. Maybe one of the enemies would be cruising around, recognize her, and take her as hostage or something. Lily shook her head, attempting to shake those pessimistic thoughts from her head so that she might finish the rest of her walk without having the intense urge to glance over her shoulder every couple of minutes. If only that damn mechanic hadn't asked so many questions, then she'd be a hell of a lot closer to the bar than she was right now. But he kept pressing her. Insisting that she give a more specific address because he couldn't drive if he didn't know where the fuck he was going. Perhaps that did make some kind of sense, but Lily had no idea who that guy was and she wasn't so sure if giving him the address to some dive bar that was going to be filled local criminals would be such a bad idea. Truth be told, the guy had a very rough, very edgy sort of look to him. It wouldn't surprise her if he came with a lot of baggage too, but it wasn't her business and she wasn't pushy enough to really ask. Lillian would rather be rid of him and anyone else who would tie her down to this terrible little town.
Walking to the bar took her considerably longer than driving would have, but she supposed that it was a good thing she made it on time. As soon as she walked through the door she was greeted with nods and grunts from the men who were already familiar with her. Some of them she imagined she had slept with during hazy nights full of alcohol and drugs, but she couldn't remember every one of her mistakes. The only one that truly stuck out in her mind was Felix, who was proudly (and very drunkenly) stumbling his way over to her. The other men took sidesteps and stumbles backwards to get out of his way, as if he were a fucking king or something. Lily could have scoffed and rolled her eyes at this, but she smiled politely at her boyfriend and greeted him with a kiss. She would have liked to keep it modest, but Felix didn't hesitate to shove his tongue in her mouth. "Hey, hunny. Sorry I'm late but y'know, my car finally gave out." Felix wasn't even really listening at that point. He was too busy pulling her along by the wrist, guiding her over to the bar where he began to introduce her to someone. The blonde wasn't all that interested in meeting a new member of the gang. She was much too busy looking around the bar, looking for potential escape routes for whenever everyone else was too drunk to notice her absence. "It's a pleasure to..." She finally turned her head to look at the man she was being introduced to, but was cut short when she looked at his face. Her stomach recoiled at the sight of him, but at least her instincts had been right. She knew he was some kind of trouble. "Actually, my name is Lillian. But yes, I guess I'm that too." Her shoulders gave a light shrug and then she took a seat at the bar next to him. She had no interest in drinking, but she didn't exactly feel like walking around to mingle either. "Did you have a nice drive the rest of the way here?" There was more spite in her voice than genuine curiosity. Maybe she was feeling a little bitter about having him just shove her out the side of his car. |

Does it ever drive you crazy just how fast the night changes?---------- ingesting more alcohol on top of the hangover had curing effects. he was suddenly feeling less sick and more alive than he felt when he had woken up with just the aftermath of the previous nights. sure, his face was a bit banged up but no one around them seemed to really care since it was not an uncommon sight. it was usually his default to have some kind of battle scar showing, always wearing it like a badge of courage but also a warning. he never came out of a battle unscathed but he always walked away from one in some way. leaning against the bar with almost half a beer finished, having been hesitant for the double effects but finding it to be rewarding, he waited for his leader to reappear with some tramp that he had claimed as his own. hunter had found this profession to be too dangerous to mix with love. he had made the mistake once and had nearly destroyed everything that he had worked for. history was never going to repeat itself. shaking his head, he put the beer down and ran a hand through his hair, feeling a bump that must have been a consequence of one of his old fights. it felt hard and his brows furrowed as he brushed his fingers against it again, pressing down on it for a brief moment before wincing to the sudden jolt of pain—maybe it was a little fresher than he had thought. giving a shake of his head, hunter dropped his hand back to his side and looked over when his name was called, his eyes growing wide before stopping a reaction from reaching the rest of his facial features. he had to remain stoic and cold, as his reputation called for. ”what a catch felix..”, he commented without really looking to the blonde, hoping that felix would drag her off. not only had he kicked the girl out of his car to walk the rest of the way but he had checked her out and had some pretty scandalous thoughts about her while investigating the car’s issues.
”yea nice to meet you.”, his voice showing that he had very little interest in talking to her again. he had already kicked her out of the car for just rubbing his skin wrong, now he had come to learn that she was important to him—or well to the gang. she was important to his leader and would probably need to protect her in some fashion. that was just an order that he was waiting for but for right now, hunter was about to excuse himself when felix did, leaving himself with the blonde. he had not even gotten her name though it was written on the clipboard in the car, he had just had no intention of getting to know her. ”Lillian.”, he repeated her name. it was such a sweet name, it had such an innocent connotation attached to it. the name brought to mind things like flowers and rainbows and this realization that it was attached to such a girl made him snort after repeating her name. shaking his head, he put his beer down, ”hunter.”, deciding that it was a formality that she might have already known. felix was one of his best friends and had been on his side when he fought against the previous leader. they talked to each other a lot, felix had always spoken about his girlfriend but never by name but hunter was not sure if his name was mentioned to the girlfriend. he took a long sip of his drink, ”i did once i kicked this annoying girl out of the car.”, raising an eyebrow as he looked down to her, ”listened to music, rolled the windows down…”, he nodded before gesturing to the bar, ”want a drink?”. he knew that he could not just leave her unattended or felix would have choice words for him which in this state of annoyance and exhaustion, would end with disastrous effects.

i feel hazy,
why is everything black and white? i feel dizzy, like my head is full of fucking dynamite. i don't get it, i'm not drunk. a million people in the place and there you are. and i was like, hi my name is whatever you call me----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Lily quite honestly had no interest in being here whatsoever. Everything about these men made her skin crawl and her stomach lurch. Granted, she was the one who had gotten herself tangled up in all of this criminal nonsense because she'd been young and foolish. When the temptation presented itself to her, she gave into the temporary gratification and now here she was. A former gang slut who turned into a queen of sorts because she was the king's woman. Lily never pictured this sort of adulthood for herself, but these were her current circumstances and she was working her ass off to try and break through the cycle. Had it not been for Felix and this stupid party, she would have been working out the car arrangements for her impending escape. Almost all of the details were worked out now, she just needed to tie up a few more loose ends and save a few more paychecks before she set anything into motion. Then all she could do was cross her fingers and pray to god that everything went according to plan... because if it didn't, she could only imagine what kind of nightmares the gang would force her to live through. Honestly, she should probably come up with a backup plan for that. Should something go a wry, maybe she should have some sort of plan to kill herself before someone got to her. That might seem a little drastic, but to be quite frank, Lily was really through living this life and if they caught up to her, she would much rather be dead than raped and abused by the men who currently surrounded her now. If they even got the chance. Lily wasn't quite sure how Felix would react to that kind of betrayal. Hopefully she wouldn't ever have to find out.
Before her boyfriend made his departure, the blonde placed a light kiss on his cheek. She doubted he even felt it or noticed, because the only time he gave her any sort of affection was when he was feeling horny and rough. Other than that, she was just a little trophy piece that he paraded around ever once in a while. Lily wouldn't be all that surprised if he cheated on her every now and again when she wasn't readily available to fit his needs. Her heart didn't break over this thought though, because she would much rather have him find his pleasure in another woman than within herself. Feigning pleasure was becoming increasingly difficult for her. "The pleasure's all mine." Lily leaned forward a little, resting her elbows on the bar top. Though this man, Hunter, was pleasing to look at, she had learned her lesson when it came to getting too involved with the likes of him. She had worked her way up for the lowest in the ranks to the leader himself. If she had the option to, she would have never messed with the likes of them at all. Even if there was something enticing about the broody nature they all seemed to posses. "Hunter. Seems to suit you." Her graze flickered over in his direction briefly. His name fit his face and she liked it she decided. She also found herself enjoying the way her name rolled off his tongue and the deep masculine tone of it. But she mustn't get too ahead of herself. "Sounds like a lovely time. I had a nice little stroll along the streets before I got here. Such a lovely night for a walk." A sweet smile appeared on her lips, but sarcasm tinged her words. Her feelings on the man beside her were still a little mixed, but she supposed that she shouldn't really have any feelings towards him at all. Regardless of this, she found herself accepting his offer for a drink anyway. "Sure. A beer would be good, thank you." Lily sat up straight and pushed her hair behind her shoulder. Making nice with strangers never proved to do her any good, but she was curious about this Hunter fellow. She just felt a little... drawn to him. Like a moth to a dangerously warm flame. |

does it ever drive you crazy just how fast the night changes?------------------------ the people at these meetings were all the same. they would backstab everyone in the room to get to where felix was but hunter, he was content. he had no desire to move up in the ranks anymore, not after what he saw became of people when they got power. his father had gotten too much and had flat out murdered anyone that got in the way of hunter growing up as a normal kid with hopes that he would be his father’s successor—well jokes on him. hunter was still a fighting machine, raised to be one but that did not mean that he was going to rise to the power that his father wished for him. he did not want to lose his mind further and after everything that happened with juniper and his previous gang, a repeat would push hunter over the edge. shaking his head as pushed those thoughts away and nursed his beer, hoping that it was not just a placebo effect and that his severe hangover was actually gone, he waited for felix and his girl to appear. girls, hunter could do without them at this point. he caused them nothing but pain and they just threw agony back at him. he had no idea how felix was even juggling both the responsibilities of a leader and the stress of a relationship. he scoffed to the thought and gave it maybe a couple more weeks before felix fizzled out or she bolted—probably the latter. hunter found felix’s presence to be infuriating and annoying but since felix was the leader and hunter was not, a bit of respect had to be shown. but that did not mean that hunter was not a passive aggressive prick toward his leader any chance that he got. now for instance as felix appeared, praising him for a job that he did a week ago and then gloating about this beautiful girlfriend of his. anytime that felix looked away, his eyes went skyward instantly as he chugged down the rest of beer and ordered a second, just so that he could get through the rest of this party. and then, the blonde appeared. she looked familiar and it clicked for him only moments later. he had just kicked her out of the passenger seat of his car. others would be sweating bullets but hunter had no real shame and would probably even tell felix that he was the reason his girlfriend was late, if she had not already created a bit of a half-truth excuse that made hunter’s eyebrow arch.
once felix was finished flaunting the blonde around, hunter was left in her company. ”is it now?’ , his eyebrow raising again as he took another large swig of his second round and then proceeded to place the bottle on the bartop, deciding that he needed to pace himself. he nodded as she spoke his name ”my father thought so too.”, since the bastard was the one that had made sure that his mother named him hunter, though she wanted the name garrett. it was a one-time compromise between the two of them but he was cursed with the wright last night. but his own mention of his father made him tense and he quickly finished off his second bottle, now deciding to wait on that third one while the two beers were soaked into his blood stream. he did still need to drive home at some point. ”it was unusually warm, glad to help with the whole exercise regime. i hear felix likes his girls extra thin…”, taking his time to do another graze of her curves before nodding as she asked for a drink. he got the bartenders attention and then gestured to lily to put her order in first before he ordered a simple glass of water, hoping that one or two glasses would help sober him up a little faster. looking to the girl, he brushed a hand through his hair, sliding a bill over to the bartender for two reasons before taking his glass of water. the silence between them was just fine with him. he was a quiet man after all but something was still eating at him. how did a girl like this end up with a guy like felix? he hated felix, enough that maybe a taste of his girl would not be the worst thing in the world. it could be worth the risk. she was a sight, a beautiful one and the bite that she had made her all the more attractive. leaning his hip into the bar, his body angled toward her, he smirked, ”so you and felix. how the fuck did that happen?”, as she had the appearance of a street girl but there was something more poised and graceful about her. she could do so much better than felix.

i feel hazy,
why is everything black and white? i feel dizzy, like my head is full of fucking dynamite. i don't get it, i'm not drunk. a million people in the place and there you are. and i was like, hi my name is whatever you call me----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Lily was currently at a loss. Now that her dearly beloved had left her in order to find the company of some other gang member to amuse himself with, she was left to entertain herself this man, Hunter. She imagined that she probably could have rained a little hell on the guy's life for kicking her out of his truck, making her walk the rest of the way here to the party, but Lily wasn't that kind of spiteful. It was true enough that she had no real love for the men and women who surrounded her now in this dingy bar, but she wasn't the type to cause unnecessary drama. Especially not now. Her only goal was to lay as low as possible. Until she made her grand exit, which would either enable her to have that long awaited new beginning or bring her down six feet under the ground. So, despite the fact that maybe there were some hard feelings between herself and this handsome stranger, she wasn't going to make him explain himself to Felix. Instead she opted to continue sitting next to him, though she wasn't quite sure where this conversation was going to end up considering they hadn't gotten on so well when they'd been left alone within the small compartment of his truck. Still, Lily was willing to give it a shot. Wasn't as if she had anywhere more important or interesting to be at the present moment anyway. "Well, it's as pleasurable as meeting any other ill tempered criminal would be." The blonde shrugged her shoulders and allowed herself a moment to look in some other direction away from him. Staring at him too long might prove to be a mistake. She might give herself the opportunity to actually feel attracted to him. "Good job on your father's part then. He choose well." As for her own name, she couldn't really remember its origin. Perhaps her parents believed such a pure and pretty name would ward their precious daughter from all the evils in the world, but clearly they had been sadly mistaken if that was the case. Maybe one day she would ask them where they came up with it, but years had passed since she spoke to them last. Lily had no idea where they were now or how they were doing in life. The thought made her sad, but it was for the best. She didn't want to drag them into a mess they didn't need to be a part of.
"Felix likes his girls pretty, obedient, and readily available. Still, I thank you for giving me that push I needed to work on my cardio." Lily snorted and rolled her eyes. Though she might not look like much, she had just as much fire within her as some of these men did. Granted, she was a lot smaller and no where near as deadly as any of them, but she wasn't defenseless either. She was strong enough for a woman her size, but what was most impressive was her speed and stamina. Lily tested the strength of her legs and heart as often as she could. Running was her strongest defense and it had come in handy quite a few times when dealing with men whose threats sounded more like promises than anything else. But that wasn't something that her new friend Hunter here would know about her. Nor would she want him to, should he turn out to be one of the people she needed to be running away from. For now he seemed to be playing nice enough, and she spoke her order to the bartender who nodded and returned a few brief moments later. Drinking around these people was risky business she had learned, but Lily was leaning on the crutch that was Felix's protection. No one would be stupid enough to touch her when he was in the same room... or so she was hoping. "I ask myself the same question quite frequently." Raising the bottle to her lips, Lily took a sip of her beer and contemplated her answer. The truth of the matter was that she was some lowly gang groupie who somehow caught the attention of their leader and now here she was sitting at the top of the food chain. How or why she ever let herself be placed in this situation was more the mystery here, because she had once been a smart girl with good morals. "I'd say that I'm just some lucky girl with a pretty face who listens well enough and comes whenever he calls. But that's just my guess. If you'd like to know why he really picked me, you'd be better off asking him." She shrugged and drank again, certain that if Hunter did decide to inquire about the nature of their relationship that he would probably get a lot of graphic details that she hardly even wanted to think about. Most of these men probably heard stories about her, but most of these men didn't matter to her. So what they said behind her back was irrelevant. She refused to let her reputation bring her down. "Why so curious about it?" |

does it ever drive you crazy just how fast the night changes?------------------------ she had a bite to her, that was a nice addition to her already attractive personality. girls who did not at least have some backbone were not even worth his time. hunter needed to banter, it was his alternative to physically fighting. his sarcasm was another weapon that he had equip with him at all times but it usually led to more bad than good results. her defensive words made his eyebrow raise and brought a slight chuckle up that actually irritated his throat. it had been a while since hunter had outright chuckled at something, usually keeping a solemn expression going at all times. he was just never really giddy or happy, unless he was with nixon—but that was due to the fact that they were one in the same person and seeing his mirrored self just made amused him more than anything. him and nixon were too alike. he already knew that ryan had gotten word of their return, wondering how long it would be until nixon’s text messages would come in. those two could just never stay away from one another. hunter had desired that once upon a time, but now the solitary life was working just fine for him. but this girl was putting doubt into his mind and it was irritating him, ”well that is a bit of a stereotype..”, though ‘ill tempered’ was a good way to describe him, some of the guys of the group were not as gun-ho as he was. she looked away from him and hunter took that time to finish his beer off. she seemed to be disinterested in him which was new for hunter. he was quite a magnet for troubled girls and usually, he was the one pushing them away. if she wasn’t interested in speaking to him, he didn’t have to talk but he did know felix would want his eyes on lily for the rest of the night and be sure that no fellow member overstepped their boundary. he felt like a guard dog. fuck. his eyes glazed and darkened to the mention of his father ‘choosing well’. he chose to ignore the comment, just sending her a quick glance through narrowed eyes to let her know that was not exactly a topic that he would ever discuss with her or anyone.
the topic grew lighter and his angered expression softened into the expressionless, earnest look that he was always giving. he looked over to her as she spoke, always having his mother’s words in his head. he always looked at the person when they spoke but sometimes, he did not return that courtesy. jeering , he gave her yet another glance over, ”well he got two out of three with you…”, straightening his posture after having finished the exchange with the bartender. he left her to guess which two that hunter believed her to be before nodding, ”always here to help out a damsel in distress..”, but the irony in that comment made him jeer again. he was usually the one causing the distress or just standing there while the other boys did whatever they wanted to do. he usually stopped things if they went too far but roughing someone up never really bothered hunter since he had personally done it when he was in initiation. he raised an eyebrow and tilted his head to the side, ”uh oh, trouble in paradise?”, he asked calmly while reaching for his water and taking a long sip of it. it felt refreshing and went down far smoother than the beer did. he had to drink this stuff more often. ”huh, so maybe three out of three…thought you would at least have a bit of a rebellious side to you.”, though hunter did recall tht anything he had asked from her, including to get out of the car, she did. she might not have been pleased to do it, but she did it. he shook his head to her suggestion, ”felix and i don’t talk about that shit.”, usually the foul language before lifting his shoulders, why was he so curious? ”don’t really give a fuck, making small talk.”, but that was a complete lie something was eating away at his thoughts, he wanted to ask a few more questions but refrained as getting to know this girl seemed dangerous. he understood the appeal that she had with felix but what the fuck was she doing to him now? ”so there isn’t really anything to do at these things but mingle, dance , fuck and drink. which is your favourite?”, changing the subject as fast as he could think of one as he took another sip of his water, feeling the healing effects of that once buzzed stage beginning to fade.

She never would have strayed away from her good grades and proper way of living and ended up becoming a drug addled gang girl. However, Lily did have it in her and this is where it got her. Stuck with a bunch of men who had horrible police records or just hadn't got caught yet. In a sense, she did fit in with them, but there was one major difference that kept her separated a little ways from them. Lily didn't lash out at every little thing. Yes, she had a sharp tongue that sometimes irritated the guys who spoke to her, but she was always careful not to overstep her boundaries. Being a woman, it would be next to impossible to protect herself from one man, let alone a whole group of them who were pissed off because she said or did something she shouldn't have. Of course the urges were there. Nothing would make her happier than to slap every one of them that stared at her like she was a piece of meat, but she was smart enough to realize that she couldn't win those battles. What she needed to do was to play her cards carefully. Stay on their good sides just enough so that they would continue to offer her protection instead of making her the outlet for their anger. Perhaps that's what got her to where she was with Felix, but she would have preferred to fly a little further away from the radar. Especially now that she was looking for an out from it all. Lily had to be careful around these guys. She didn't want to make a lasting impression or stir too much trouble because in just a few weeks she would be making a run for it and they all needed to stay off her trail for as long as possible so she could create enough distance to get away safely. "Maybe it is, but is the stereotype wrong?" Lily arched an eyebrow in questioning. She already experienced his temper and it would have seriously surprised her if he wasn't a criminal. There was no way he'd be sitting here at this bar during this party if he wasn't.
After catching a glimpse of his darkened expression, she took the hint and made a temporary mental note that he had daddy issues. So they wouldn't go there. Lily wasn't curious enough to dig any further into his past anyway. The odds of them ever speaking again after tonight were slim to none, so there was really no point in pushing his buttons that hard. Though apparently he was trying to play some mind games with her now. Lily couldn't help but to snort and roll her eyes when he decided that she had two out of the three qualities that Felix enjoyed. Maybe he wanted her to put some thought into which of the two he believed her to posses, but she didn't exactly care what he thought. Sure, he was an extremely handsome stranger but that was all he would ever be. His opinion didn't matter to her. Or so she was telling herself. "Of course not. We're still in the honeymoon stage." Her dry delivery suggested otherwise, but Lily wasn't dumb enough to speak poorly of her relationship with one of his little pets. Having him running off to tell Felix of her poor comments wasn't something she really needed to deal with right now. "I pick my battles carefully. Someone like me isn't likely to stand a chance against someone like you. Or Felix." True, she could have refused to get out of his truck when he told her to. However, Hunter looked like the type who wouldn't have any of that and would have pushed her out anyway, so why would she draw things out longer then they needed to be? Picking her battles. "Sure, if you say so." He hadn't really convinced her that he was completely uninterested in her, but she would go along with it for now. Trying not to push his buttons too far and all that. "Hm... that's a tough one. Drinking is nice, but my favorite part is actually the one where everyone gets drunk enough for me to slip back home without anyone noticing." Right now Lilly was only here for appearances. Felix wanted her here, so she showed. In a few hours though, she would be gone because he'd be too drunk to tell and he would probably find love in one of the other girls around here anyway. "What about you? Which is your poison?" Lifting the bottle to her lips again, she took a sip while awaiting his answer. |

does it ever drive you crazy just how fast the night changes?------------------------ the assumption that she made was not wrong but hunter was not the type of person to let them just get gratification on things like this. she was completely in the right when it came to him but he had never been called an ‘ill tempered criminal’. jail had not been in his plan books, none of this had been. he had thought love, the idea of it, was going to be his ticket out but how wrong he was. he was so wrong that he never wanted to feel as he did when he woke up in a hospital bed to find that his girlfriend, the woman he loved, had decided it was too much for her and took off. a note was all he was given and that stung. a physical goodbye would have been painful but at least it would have left him with some closure to see her eyes, know what she was thinking. looking to the blonde now, he saw a bit of a resemblance to his only ex-girlfriend. blond hair, blue eyes, innocent but feisty. he was not going to fall into that trap again. giving the girl a shrug in response, he leaned in just a bit closer as the music and the company suddenly got louder. his lips were near her ear as he spoke, ”you tell me when this is all said and done.”, pulling back to stand up straighter, he looked around him. the people were just disgusting in this bar. low tops, low jeans, some of the guys were not even wearing shirts. he could not believe that he had been like this once before. fighting was in his blood and that was the only reason he stuck around. it was his drug, he was completely addicted to the rush that it gave him and he felt lost without the thrill of it all. he wondered what this girl’s deal was with the gang life, what was her vice that kept her glued to this life?
he snorted, loudly, to the mention of the honeymoon stage that they were in and he actually laughed. he was doing it because he knew what she was saying was pure bullshit. ”if that was true, he would be here, all over you…”, because hunter knew what the honeymoon phase was. that was what he and juniper had been in, that was the only stage that they really got to. cuddling, kissing, always wanting to feel the other person’s skin, touch them, heat mixing with heat, it was another thrill but hunter learned that he could get that from sex with strangers, when he desired it, which was rare. he was pretty content with being alone, living alone and then dying alone. he had nixon, that was enough for him when it came to company though nixon was so far from his type, he was still kind of hunter’s soulmate and he recognized it. it was only fair that the two brothers died together when the time came, which hunter assumed would be how he died. he furrowed his brows to the mention of him, sticking him in the same category as with someone like felix. he had seen that man at his worst, drunk and horny, he had met the faces of the victims that felix just had to have. it was sickening, it was disgusting and he hated the fact that he just got lumped with felix. ”difference is, unless you piss me off, there is no reason for you to have to ‘strand a chance’ against me” felix will do it for sport., a guy was always hunter’s target but his fists or his anger had been misplaced once or twice and that was guilt that ever left the male’s mind but felix, he wondered if the guy even had a conscious. ”small talk until your boy toy returns…”, not that the guy deserved the interesting blonde but hunter was not going to butt into their business anymore. raising and eyebrow as she chose to answer his question, he nodded in agreement, ”being friendly to the staff helps with that escape plan. but felix will notice if you are gone…unless he finds someone first.”, though he assumed that lily was aware of her boyfriend’s lack of loyalty, he figured that she didn’t care or didn’t mind. either way, he told himself not to care and that seemed to work. ”my poison isn’t on that list.”, but he tapped the bar and getting another beer put into his hands, ”but drinking is a good one. see i can’t leave these things as easily as someone like you can.”, but he tried. he would rather be in his apartment or at nixon’s then to be here doing this mingling thing. the loner was better off being left alone.

i feel hazy,
why is everything black and white? i feel dizzy, like my head is full of fucking dynamite. i don't get it, i'm not drunk. a million people in the place and there you are. and i was like, hi my name is whatever you call me----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | When Hunter moved closer to her, leaning in close enough to get his lips unreasonably close to her ear, hot shivers went down her spine. It was true that the blonde had no luck in the love department, but she wasn't unfamiliar with lust and attraction. Lily was completely certain that she had never fallen in love or had even experienced a taste of what it might be like. All she had ever experienced were heated nights full of temporary passion that got her no where in the morning, except for in the bed of a stranger whose name she'd completely forgotten. Sometimes, when she thought about the way she used to be, her stomach recoiled. Lily was disgusted with herself and her foolish life choices, but there was no way for her to change them... or for her to deny the fact that there was something about this handsome brooding stranger that made her blood run a little hotter than usual. There was nothing friendly flowing between them, but she couldn't ignore the slight sparks of electricity that crackled between them whenever he moved a little close in her direction. "That leaves me with the impression that you're going to stick around long enough for me to figure you out." When he pulled away and stood back up, she looked over at him with her eyebrow raised. Hunter seemed to want nothing to do with her, only sticking around because he'd been left with the charge of watching her while Felix entertained himself elsewhere, but if she were to determine whether or not he disproved the stereotype... they would need some time together. So perhaps he was just trying to be clever with his comments. Tonight was probably the only night they would have to speak to one another, and that was hardly enough time to figure him out.
"You caught me. His interest is waning and his eye is wandering. Why he stays is beyond me." With the way she spoke of him, it made her seem like she was the one who believed herself to be unworthy of his love and attention. That really wasn't the case at all. Lily didn't feel any sort of gratitude towards her boyfriend just because he was with her. She didn't feel anything towards him at all really. The only thing she was filled with was indifference and disgust. Lily had a lot of that to go around. "Well, let me ask you this; How hard is it to piss you off?" If she were to take a guess, Lily would say that it wouldn't be that difficult to strike a match and light the fuse within him. There was just something dark and dangerous vibrating off of him and though it attracted her to him, it also made her wary. She was a woman who had learned her lesson quite a few times and now knew better than to piss the wrong people off. Maybe he didn't take pleasure in hitting a woman, but she didn't think any of these men in this bar were strictly against it. There was always some chance that they could lash out and do more damage to her then she could ever do to them, and she wasn't about to trust Hunter and his words. "If he returns." The blonde lifted the bottle to her lips again, but this time took a longer drink from it. The beer inside it was almost gone and she was tempted to ask for another, but it wouldn't take a lot of these to get her tipsy and she wasn't sure if it would be a wise decision to let her guards down even a little around him. "Thank you for your counsel, but I know what I'm doing. I've been doing it for a while now." Escaping unnoticed was her specialty it would seem. She knew how to do it without having any trouble following after her. In a few weeks time, she would be putting that talent to the ultimate test. "Well, if you don't feel like sticking around when I make my escape, you can join me if you want." Shrugging, she finished the rest of her beer. That probably wasn't a good idea, but Lily doubted that he would accept the offer anyway. He hadn't been able to stand a car ride with her the first time, so it wasn't likely he would want to suffer through it again. |

does it ever drive you crazy just how fast the night changes?------------------------ he could hear her breathing in his ear when he leaned in closer and hunter could have sworn that it sped up. she was breathing faster around him for one of two reasons and he was not sure which would be more satisfying. he loved seeing fear in people’s eyes, as sadistic as that was, but he never really did anything to put the fear there. his reputation was just that horrifying. he let the rumors go wild about him because really, how much worse could his reputation get? he was already a murderer, killing the leader of his father’s legacy and then two of his childhood friends because they had crossed too many lines with him. really, he was already feared by almost everyone in the room, giving him wary glances unless they actually knew him—hunter was scary, but he was intimidating. something about him just always showed that he was not someone to be messed with and usually, a physical act was not needed against anyone, just a simple threatening glare worked just as well. it was the rivals that should be scared of someone like hunter, someone who dares to threaten anything that he had a remote shred of care for. ”hm, the real question is are you going to stick around long enough to find out?”, he eyed her with a smirk before reaching for his glass of water. it was quite refreshing, he had to admit. looking to the girl, he searched her eyes for anything other than resentment and angst but hunter was not really digging deep enough, he had no reason to at this point.
he downed the glass of water and placed it back down on the bar, nodding as he looked over her head to the crowd, searching for signs of exactly what she was talking about. felix was no where to be seen which meant that hunter could leave soon, hopefully. the rest of the gang did not matter to him, felix really did not matter to him either but he had to stay to appease the overlord of the gang and he hated it. if felix disappeared, he would not notice if hunter did too. he wanted to go back to his truck, drive to the shop and tinker with something to keep his hands and his mind busy. this blonde thing was starting to get under his skin. he nodded to her, not really wanting to go in-depth with the constraints of her relationship. it was not his business and even if it was something that hunter had to care about, he would fake it. how felix dealt with his girls had nothing to do with hunter though he hardly understood how felix could stray to a slut when this girl before him was quite a package deal. she had wit, sass, beauty and was able to hold a civilized conversation, for the most part. ”how long did it take me to kick you out of the car?’, he shrugged before asking for another beer and slipping the bartender another extra few dollars. he took a sip and looked away from the girl and back to the crowd that was beginning to get more rambunctious as the alcohol flowed through the crowd. it was fucking annoying. ”who cares if he does.”, not exactly hiding his dislike for her boyfriend but he hadn’t been trying to hide it either. most people knew that hunter was more of a loner, someone that kept to himself and did not need anyone barging into his life and messing it up. felix understood that, he even seemed to respect it which is why his head had not been into the cement wall of a building yet but hunter suspected that it would come at some point, probably sooner rather than later. he shrugged to the girl as his advice rolled off her back and flew away. he was just trying to be helpful but hunter knew that was usually a mistake with the gang’s girls. he shook his head and took another smaller sip of his beer, ”maybe. see, me, i can just walk out that front door and no one will say a thing. i’m guessing he has eyes on you, including my own.”, watching as she tipped the bottle back and finished the last drop, ”another or want to walk out the front door with me?” because at least if his eyes were on her, he was still doing his ‘job’.

i feel hazy,
why is everything black and white? i feel dizzy, like my head is full of fucking dynamite. i don't get it, i'm not drunk. a million people in the place and there you are. and i was like, hi my name is whatever you call me----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | It could be that she was supposed to be afraid of this man, and every other man that crowded this bar, but she really wasn't. Lily knew fear in all shapes and sizes. At one point these men scared her, but now they merely intimidated her and made her feel a little wary. Cautious. Resentful. Disgusted. Every inch of her skin crawled whenever they were near... except for on the rare occasion where one of them happened to make her feel something a little... different. There was this dark sort of attraction she was feeling towards Hunter, but even that didn't completely mask her urges to keep away from him. He couldn't be anything but trouble. None of these men were. It had crossed her mind that maybe she could attempt to find one of them who wanted out of the gang, so that maybe she would have a little muscle behind her plan to escape, but that would be too risky. She couldn't put trust in someone because that would mean running the risk of them going to tell Felix about her plans and getting her killed way ahead schedule. That wasn't exactly ideal, so she would just have to brave this storm alone and hope for a good few miles between herself and Felix by the time he noticed she was gone. "I haven't decided yet. You seem interesting enough, so maybe I'll hang around a little longer." Still, it didn't seem likely to her that he would ever give her enough time to really figure him out, even if that ended up being what she really wanted. It wasn't of course, but she wondered what kind of stories might be hiding behind his pretty blue eyes. For a moment, she just stared at him, just as he did her, but then lost the interest and turned her attention back to her beer bottle. Maybe a year or so ago she would have tried to get under his skin, but it was no longer her place. Lily shouldn't make ties when she was just about to sever all of them.
Lily rolled her eyes in response to his question because in her mind, that only proved to back up her point. He was easy to piss off and despite his indirect claims to be somewhat chivalrous, Lily doubted he would deny himself the chance to hit something that was making him angry just because it was a female. Of course, she didn't have the whole "girlfriend of the boss" shield protecting her, but that wasn't always enough. She didn't like to take risks with her physical health and safety because she would need to be in best shape possible to get away. Pissing off some stupid brute with a hot temper and tendency to blindly lash out wasn't a part of the game plan. "Not long." finally she responded, shrugged, and finished off the rest of her beer. In a few more minutes she planned to make her escape. If Felix wasn't drunk enough to ignore her absence, she would tell him that something had come up at work and she had to cover one of the girl's graveyard shift. He wouldn't question it and would go back to drinking and by the time morning came, he would hardly remember it at all. "I doubt either of us would." Speaking so lowly of her boyfriend probably wasn't the smartest idea, but she blamed the beer for loosening her tongue and weakening her defenses around this brooding stranger. For a moment her eyes narrowed, as if it were Hunter's fault for making her act a little carelessly. She wanted to say she felt like he wouldn't say anything of it to Felix because of the cool dislike he seemed to have towards the other man, but she couldn't be sure. Trusting the likes of him or putting any faith into him wasn't a good idea. "That's true. Getting out of here is a little easier for you than it is for me." Again she shrugged. She was used to the challenge at this point. Having easy access to the exit would probably be jarring to her now... but he was offering her the chance to do just that. Lily looked to him and tilted her head curiously. "If I say yes, is there going to be ulterior motive or something?" For a moment her body tensed and she eyed him carefully, trying to determine whether or not she could trust him on this. |
