Used to have such such balance but I don’t know where it went--------------------- with the water cascading over his head, his hand on the wall as he bent his head down to wash all the soap away, he washed the water circle down the drain before a female voice caught his attention. eddie, i need to use the bathroom!, and he groaned while turning off the water and grabbing for the towel, wrapping it around his waist, ”this needs to be fast nicky, i got an important meeting today.”, walking into his bedroom and shutting the door. his eyes focused on his muddled sheets and blanket and a medium sized canine that was rolling around and creating the mess. edward’s nose wrinkled but he had little time to worry about that as he grabbed for his suit—the other uniform that he had. his police uniform was currently hanging next to his suit and he took a tick of a second to brush his fingers against the thick material for shutting his closet. he had only recently begun to really dream of being an officer of the law and now that the moment had come and gone, edward still had trouble wrapping his head around it. looking to the dog, he raised an eyebrow and snapped his finger and she reluctantly stopped being in euphoria and slipped off the bed and onto the floor. shaking his head, he gave the dog a quick pat before getting dressed, now careful about getting fur on his black suit. walking out of his bedroom, he heard a whistle and turned his head to see his male roommate—an old friend, well you look spiffy.., which made edward chuckle and launch his gaze skyward, ”got a bodyguard client…first one. got to make a good first impression..”, putting his fist to the meek wooden bathroom door as he attempted to get his younger sister out for only two seconds so that he could properly fix his appearance. the door opened and without even a word, edward pushed his sister out and invaded the bathroom space for a whole five minutes before coming out, his hair a little more professional than the wet, chaos that he had going before. grabbing for his keys, wallet and badge, edward slipped out the door with a quick goodbye to the two inhabitants of his house—three since he counted the dog.
a train ride later and edward was in the big city and in the office of a potential unknown client. he was sitting in the waiting room of a rather fancy office, his legs crossed and trying to avoid going for his phone but instead, reached for a paper. even though things got a little jumbled in his mind as he read the latest headlines, edward was able to get the gist of what was happening. then, his name was called and a small petite brunette appeared with a wire hanging out of her ear which was attached to a phone sitting on a clipboard. ”mr. rainer, yes?, which he nodded, reaching for her hand and giving it a firm shake, ”you’re correct. i’m here cause your client wanted a bodyguard and well, the company sent me.”, he grinned while letting go of her hand, ”yes well, miss. lennox is a growing young star and well, she will need to be protected..”. edward did not hear anything past ‘miss lennox’ which made his blood run cold as he followed the brunette down the hallway while trying to register how he knew that name. just as they got to the door, his mind finally flipped a switch and he remembered—nina lennox. the entire reason that he left this town in the first place. he had run from the heartache. was she actually behind this very door? he was anxious to reach for the door and open it himself but he waited for the assistant to do it and he followed her in. the room was not as he expected as it really gave no resemblance to an office space at all. ”katie, the agency sent over this young man to watch over you.”, edward stepping out from behind the assistant to peer into the light eyes of another lennox. a smile graced his face and he stepped over to katie, holding out his hand, ”good to see you again, katie. miss. lennox..”.

there's an endless road,
to rediscover. know the water's sweet but blood is thicker. oh, if the sky comes falling down for you, there's nothing in this world i wouldn't do--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | After finally having made her big break in the film industry, life had become rather complicated for the young starlet. It was like everywhere she turned there was some camera or microphone being shoved in her face and people were shouting questions at her in such rapid succession that she didn't have time to think of answers for the ones asked before it. A few years ago, back when she had still been some little country bumpkin living in the shadow of her sister, she would have rolled around on the floor laughing if someone were to tell her that this was the life she was destined for. Katie, in all honesty, never expected herself to be the pride and joy of the family. Before her life exploded into all this fame and fortune, she had been some awkward little science nerd who aspired to test theories and try her hand at discovering cures for allegedly incurable diseases. Biology and anatomy captured her attention and played with her imagination. Before all of this, her life had consisted of cluttered bookshelves and a disorganized desk that had homework scattered all over its surface and flowing out from the overstuffed draws. That life was long behind her however. Her current life didn't allow her enough free time to check into the new technological and scientific advancements going on in the world around her. The most she heard of it was updates on the newest Apple products or some new luxury appliance that would make her life ten thousand times easier, as if she had any problems with it now. There were so many people working for her now that she hardly ever had to lift a finger if she didn't want to. She had people scheduling the daily events of her life and other people watching her every move because apparently being a celebrity was risky business. On today's agenda she was supposed to be meeting her new bodyguard.
After some unfortunate miscommunication at a jumbled up signing, her last bodyguard had been given the boot by her manager. He was deem ill suited for the job and not attentive enough to the young girl's needs. Honestly, Katie probably would have forgiven him simply for the fact that she was used to his company and wasn't sure if she wanted to go through that whole thing again. Katie wasn't exactly the talkative type. It was rare that she made extended conversation with people when she didn't have to. The spotlight had her withdrawing from people more than she had even when she was in high school. There were currently only a few people in her life who got to see the real her and could hold a genuine conversation with her. It had taken her a while to come to this realization, but making true friendships when your name was so popular was no easy task. Katie had fallen in love a few times and had her heart broken just as quickly as she'd given it out because nothing was real in Hollywood. Everything anyone ever did was for the sake of publicity, whether it be for good press or bad press. People just wanted the attention. Not her though, she would much rather keep to herself and play her roles. Sometimes she did need to make connections with people though, and the man who was guided through the door was one of those people. "Hello." Her voice was a distracted murmur as she rose from her seat on the couch and smoothed out her skirt. It wasn't until she glanced up from her hands that a small smile crept over her lips. "Edward... wow. Hi. What are the odds?" Truth be told, Mr. Rainer had long since been her childhood crush, but of course her sister stole his attention. At the time, she had only been some geeky science nerd. Of course he wouldn't have ever paid her any mind. "You can call me Katie. We're going to be together quite a bit so... might be more comfortable if we're not so formal." Smiling, she gestured vaguely around the room for him to take a seat. It would probably be more appropriate for him to sit in a chair across from her, but she wouldn't be opposed to him sitting on the couch beside her. After reclaiming her seat on the couch, she crossed her legs and glanced over at him. "Well, it's good to see. Probably kinda strange though, huh?" Small talk was never her strong suit, but here's to trying. |

Used to have such such balance but I don’t know where it went--------------------- why had he not asked what the name of this potential client was? he knew nina had dreams of having her names in lights but did she actually achieve that dream? he hoped so. he wished all the best for her life even if she was the only girl to break his heart, well, until claire but that was all in the past. now as he walked down the halls of a rather busy office building, edward felt his eyes glaze over as he tried to focus on which door would be hers. he guessed three times but was wrong. this hallway was rather long. sighing, he followed closely behind the brunette assistant, his patience running thinner and thinner with each passing door. the turn came unexpectedly and he had nearly walked straight into the assistance as his head had been in the clouds momentarily. ”sorry…”, he mumbled out before looking to the door with a sigh. it read ”office of miss. lennox.” printed on a black plaque in golden letters that made her name just shine, literally. he wanted to brush his fingers across the lettering, trace her name like he was feeling her skin again. fuck, he missed that girl. he had no closure after their breakup and she was often crossing his mind when he was alone. she was the one that got away. he stepped back, almost ready to bolt but then the door was opened and edward had no other option to walk in with the assistant. he wanted to ask a million questions but his eyes fell on another girl behind the desk, his heart started to slow and the heaviness of his chest lifted. it wasn’t nina, it was katie—or someone with the same emerald eyes that katie used to have.
she stood up and he gave her a pleased smile, relieved to see that it was not her sister. he wondered if nina had made it to the big leagues, but at the same time, it seemed that katie was climbing higher and faster. he had heard rumours of katie getting some roles but he, admittedly, had never seen a piece of her work but now he wanted to. looking into those deep eyes, he felt his heart skip a beat as their hands grasped one another. it gave him a jolt which just made his smile grow that much wider, ”very slim. the world really is quite small.”, dropping her hand after a firm shake and stepping back, placing his hands behind his back and standing in the usual professional stance. he was still quite surprised to see katie and not only her but her being completely grown up. she was beautiful. he always thought it but nina had captured his attention and kept it all the way through university. katie had turned into the little sister of his love of his life but now, here she was, fully grown and his attention was now completely on her—though he had to. he was her protector now, just as he had always desired to be for someone. he had a few clients but they never lasted long, they wanted someone more dedicated. he was a part time bodyguard and a part time officer, it was never enough for his old clients. he looked over to her as she spoke and he nodded, ”anything you say…katie.”, her name tasted so sweet coming off his tongue. he ignored it though, following her over to the seating area. he stood there, like a statue, waiting for her to sit down first. he needed to keep his distance and he knew it, deciding on the chair beside the couch. ”it’s great to see you.”, escalated his excitement to have not only a familiar face, but a friendly one too, before him. ”it’s a bit…strange but it’s not like we are strangers. we were pretty close growing up..”, not wanting to say her sister’s name or mention that part of the past. ”so when did this career change occur? thought you would always be a doctor or cure cancer..”, he grinned to her, leaning forward, his elbows resting on his knees as he looked at her with nothing but curiosity and interest showing in his eyes.

there's an endless road,
to rediscover. know the water's sweet but blood is thicker. oh, if the sky comes falling down for you, there's nothing in this world i wouldn't do--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | When Katie made the leap from smalltown science geek to upcoming movie star, she went into it knowing that she would most likely lose touch with all the friends she had back in Middletown. It wasn't for lack of trust in them but more for the fact that she never had enough time anymore and she made temporary homes in hotels scattered across the globe. Keeping in touch with her family was challenging enough because most of the time they were living in different timezones and when she finally found a break to phone home, they were all fast asleep or busy working. Her mother would always find time to call her later, but sometimes the same couldn't be said for her older sister. There was some tension between the two because Nina had always been the one who was expected to make it big. She had big dreams with a dazzling personality that usually put her front and center wherever she went. Katie was the one who grew up in the background, living within the shadow of her beautifully captivating sister. Kind of ironic how things ended up though, because the quiet little science nerd was making it big in the movies and all that nonsense. Truthfully, this wasn't something that Katie had ever expected to happen. The opportunity just presented itself to her and she decided to go along for the ride. Her sister was bitter because of it. Katie could feel the subtle waves of jealousy rolling off her whenever they spoke to one another and it made her uncomfortable because she wasn't used to having people be jealous of her. She wasn't supposed to be the one with all the attention. Everything was backwards now and Katie was finding it a little difficult adjusting to the shift in roles. And clearly Edward, Mr. Rainer, was a little in shock about the turnout as well.
When Katie first looked at him, it looked as if he was breathing a sigh of relief. Why that was was beyond her. He had been pretty in love with her older sister and she imagined it would have been exciting for him to lay eyes on her again. Though obviously it wouldn't have been. She never really heard much about why he and her sister broke up because Nina moved on pretty quickly from it. It had made her sad to see Edward go though, because he was always nice to her and pleasant enough to talk to... even though he was her crush but also her sister's boyfriend. Regardless, it was really great to see him again. Especially under these circumstances. She already knew that she could trust him with the job. "I'm not too sure about that... I've seen quite a bit of it now and it all seems pretty big to me." Katie smiled politely over in his direction, but there was a touch of sadness behind her expression. Though seeing new parts of the world was exciting and all, she always felt that ache to return home to her small town roots. Pearl River was a tiny enough community, but it still wasn't the same. There were a lot of things about her old life that she missed. However, she wouldn't ever complain about her current circumstances because she knew just how lucky she was to have gotten this far in life. She could acknowledge how fortunate she was and would only ever express her gratitude towards the events and people that brought her here. Still, it was nice to be seated across from someone she knew from her childhood. It warmed a part of her that she forgot existed. "We were! And it's been so long since I've seen anyone from home, so I can't even tell you how happy I am that we were matched up. Hopefully you won't mind babysitting me again." She grinned cheerfully over at him and shifted some in her seat because she was beginning to find it a little difficult to sit still. Feeling this kind of excitement was a little strange. Usually her composure was very relaxed, proper, and polite, so this was something new for her. "Yeah... that was the original plan but... I guess I made a wrong turn somewhere and it brought me here. Can't say I'm surprised to see you though. You've always had that sort of... protective thing going on for you." Matching his movements, Katie wiggled over on the couch a little and leaned forward so she was that much closer to him. It felt like she was a teenager again, excitedly jabbering away at him about some nonsense but she was happy to be talking because he was listening. |

Used to have such such balance but I don’t know where it went--------------------- the midwest town had really done nothing for edward. he had been nothing there, he had nothing but heartache and some pained memories. nina and him had made the decision to go to the city together for school, leaving behind that small town and the trail of heart break that he had left behind. so many girls before nina had nicked away at the illusion that love was going to find him and he was going to hold onto it forever, nina was supposed to be it for him but she had other plans. three years and six days after being together, she left him and went wherever. he actually had no idea what happened to that girl after she turned her back to him. he had expected to hear from her, at least letting him know she was safe because he did worry like that. he had trekked back to his small western down and then left for the police academy. nina had persuaded him to take that career as he had gone into university with the idea of being a business man. how wrong that dream was. this was his destiny. but he never thought that this destiny would lead him back to his past. katie was such a sweet girl. he had babysat her plenty of times in the small town and when nina and him were dating, he often let her tag along with them wherever they went. he enjoyed her brilliance and she even helped him with a couple of his math tests, since math was such a bad subject for him. he could not believe that katie had actually slipped his mind, he had never even checked in on her or called her or texted her—well it all seemed pointless now. she would have never answered or this brunette assistant would have and probably shut him out of talking to her. this was much better, this was unplanned and unexpected but completely right to him. he chuckled, giving a shrug, ”guess it’s just the US then.”, because what were the odds that they would end up in new york city? it really was quite a small community after all. he looked at her eyes and furrowed his brows to her vacant expression. she seemed unhappy to have seen the world though katie’s dream had never been to get out of the town, not that he remembered at least. it was nina who wanted to break free, katie seemed pretty content with who and where she was, ’still isn’t home, huh?”, he leaned in to speak in a softer voice, not wanting the nosy assistant to overhear who then took her leave as she saw that the two were already quite comfortable with one another.
”so weird that we are matched up but i’m happy with the outcome!”, that goofy grin spreading on his lips as he took his seat on the chair beside the couch. he was close enough to katie to hear what she was saying but not close enough as to invade the personal space of a celebrity. he was a bodyguard, he had to remember that was important to do. he had been through training for this and sometimes, he forgot but was always quick to apologize when he overstepped his boundaries. ”totally forgot that nina and i babysat you! you are the same age as me after all but man, you were so small back then, i swear, you were like a little kid to me sometimes.”, but not anymore. she had grown up, she had filled out—she was beautiful. she resembled her sister but then there was also her own special qualities, like her eyes. they were far more of an emerald hue than nina’s, smaller nose, fuller lips—his eyes had wondered to that before they shot back up to her eyes. he should not be thinking this way about his ex-almost-fiancee’s younger sister. giving a chuckle as she went into her explanation, he found it as a mild distraction from his more hormonal induced thoughts, ”why would you say it’s a wrong turn?”, having caught that phrase. her career path seemed to be taking her to great things, maybe not scientific discovery great, but still, edward thought that she was doing well, standing on her own two feet. ”well actually…business was my thing….nina kind of pushed me into this career path.”, his voice holding a slight saddened tone. he did not want to talk about her, but he had to, this was her sister after all—shrugging at her, he chuckled to play it all off, not wanting to get into the emotions of things, ”worked out for the best. this is the best place i could have ended up.”. and he was referring to both being in the big city, the small town and maybe even suggesting that her couch was not such a bad option either.

there's an endless road,
to rediscover. know the water's sweet but blood is thicker. oh, if the sky comes falling down for you, there's nothing in this world i wouldn't do--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | If she were to really think about it, Katie didn't have very many things that tied her to their hometown. There was her family of course, and a few good friends as well, but it wasn't as if she had ever fallen in love with anyone there like her sister had. High school had been a relatively uneventful journey for her. She made friendships and stood out within the mathematical and scientific ranks there. Colleges were even offering her all kinds of scholarships because they wanted her to enter their programs, but even they would require her to move far away from home. Had she decided to stay on the science path, MIddletown wouldn't have anything to offer her. The place was small and simple. There were no labs or testing centers or anything like that at all near there, so she would have needed to leave the nest anyway. Katie had been content there though. She liked the small community and enjoyed the company of the locals. They were all people she grew up with. Everything about her home made her feel comfortable and safe. Life had other plans for her though. She wasn't meant to life a lifestyle full of comfort and safety. In fact, it was quite the opposite now. Everywhere she went, reporters and talk show hosts were making her uncomfortable with their personal questions and her safety was always in question. That's what had brought Edward to her today. Apparently she was destined to live this life under the eye of the public, making movies for people to watch and fawn over and becoming a face for people to love and aspire to be like. This wasn't the kind of influence she thought she would be making on the world, but at least it was some kind of influence at all. "I guess it must be." Katie folded her hands in her lap and smiled some. If the world truly was so small, it should have brought her back to other people from her past. It hadn't though. Most of the people she knew never dared to venture outside the town boundaries. Lucky for her that Edward had though, so at least there was that. "No, not quite. It's challenging to make a home when you're constantly moving. I'm sure I'll find some place to settle eventually." She gave her head a slight nod. Eventually she would stumble upon a place that would make her want to stay, but so far that hasn't happened.
Admittedly, Katie was also thrilled that they'd been brought together. Not just because her longtime crush was finally in her company without her older sister looming close by, but because he was honestly a good guy and someone she felt like she could really talk to and get along with. It was like there was this potential for her to get back in touch with who she used to be. "I'm definitely very happy with it too." Having him around was going to be great, but there was also going to have to be this sort of professional relationship between them as well. Right now it wasn't a concern to her, but he was her bodyguard now, not just a babysitter. He was going to be expected to put his life on the line for her if need be. That was a lot of responsibility that would require rules and careful precautions. Those were just things they would have to worry about later when they were done catching up. "Yeaaah yeah, I know. I arrived a little late to the growing up party, but I made it eventually." Katie rolled her eyes and shrugged. She'd always been little and quiet and easily mistaken for younger than what she really was. For some reason it was always assumed that she needed more people to look out for her even though she was quite mature for someone her age. It never really bothered her though. She hadn't minded being left within the company of Nina and Edward. "Well, not wrong turn. Just unexpected. Could have taken a worse turn I suppose." Her opinion of her career was still a little uncertain. Acting wasn't so bad. She enjoyed putting on masks to play different people, but sometimes it felt like the mask never really came off when she was stuck being paraded around all these people all the time. Edward probably didn't want to hear about all her woes right now though, so she kept that part to herself. "Nina has a way with pushing people, that's for sure." Whether it be for better or for worse was up for interpretation. "But I'm glad you think so. Everything seemed to play out pretty nicely for us. Hopefully you're not too bothered by lots of screaming and flashing cameras." Because there was no way he would be avoiding those in the upcoming months. |

Used to have such such balance but I don’t know where it went--------------------- the fact that edward had been brought in meant that something was making katie’s life unsafe. that thought made him uneasy. she was so sweet, so humble, so perfect. she always had been. she never let labels get to her or let the world push down on her until she was nothing, she was going to be somebody and edward had always been rooting for her. he never had any doubt in his mind that she was going off to bigger and better things and when he left that town, he knew that she would too, eventually. he wanted her to finish her education and find out a little more about who she was, but edward had high hopes that girl and here she was. he had not really put two and two together when hearing not only her name but remembering seeing her in movie trailers and commercials. he would always just flip the channel or stare at the floor because it pained him to see someone that resembled the girl that he had loved. the for the longest time, those little reminders were around him and they bothered him and then he met casey, but that turned out just as bad. now, he was going to focus on his career. it was all that he had going for him at this point in his life, besides his sister now invading his apartment and a police dog with an attitude staying over sometimes as well. he shrugged to her comment, ”i’ve only seen like ten states…” and most of them had been with her sister when they went to and from the small town to the big city, until his family moved along with him and then it was just her going back and forth on her own. he nodded, ”you little no…nomad.”, the word had flown out of his head for second, the letters getting jumbled as per usual but he had fixed his mistake in record time and kind of hoped that the blunder had gone unnoticed by his client, by his friend, by this beautiful girl.
he was extremely happy with the familiar face, one that he knew well and only had to catch up a couple years of life. he knew most of her childhood, up until he was about seventeen and then things began to blur for him when it came to her. after his family moved out to new york, he really had no reason to go to the midwest anymore. that life had been forgotten and with it, apparently, so was katie. shaking his head, he chuckled, ”so tiny, you probably would have fit in my pocket!”, he exclaimed before letting his words die out with a chuckle and rubbing at his legs, now just a bit uncomfortable. she was no longer that girl, and well, edward could not explain how much she had grown up and how much notice he was taking of it. he grinned at her tired expression since he was sure that she heard it a lot. he was aware of how many times he reminded her when they were younger about how small she was, how cute she was, how he just wanted to put her into nina’s purse and carry her around (since he was usually holding nina’s purse). but she was not so little anymore and edward wanted to say something but instead, he just cleared his throat. compliments were probably something that she got every waking moment of her life, he did not expect his to be taken with sincerity or even interest. he noted that she had said ‘wrong turn’, speaking in an ill tone about her current situation. he nodded, understanding. this was not exactly what he had planned for his life but edward knew that it was exactly where he needed to be. it felt right, it felt like the perfect fit. he always was protective and caring, so why not make a career out of those admirable qualities? ”as long as it doesn’t feel…wrong, then it’s right.”, realizing that his words probably brought little comfort to her life choices but he was trying to make it better without sounded too brotherly, since he was not her brother, or wise, because he still had a lot to learn himself. her name brought out sadness behind his eyes and he nodded, ”she always knew best. or thought she did…”, he sat up a bit straighter and looked away to gather his emotions, gather his thoughts and compose himself once more. ”bothered by that? nah, used to that stuff in this line of work!”, giving her a reassuring smile before his phone buzzed, ”seems you have an interview in about an hour..”, he stood up and brushed his pants clean of the invisible lint that the chair might have left and held out his hand, ”shall we?”.

there's an endless road,
to rediscover. know the water's sweet but blood is thicker. oh, if the sky comes falling down for you, there's nothing in this world i wouldn't do--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | The simple fact that she was finally beginning to need some type of security around her at all times really hammered home the fact that she was making it big now. People were starting to recognize her face and know her name wherever she went. For the first year or so it wasn't so bad. She'd only been in a few small films that no one cared too much to see because they weren't being thrown in your face every two seconds by way of billboards and commercial ads. Now, however... well, she'd just played her first lead role in a feature film that was supposed to be going up for some MTV movie awards or whatever, which would only have more publicity raining down over her. Katie never thought that she would be making this kind of an impact on the world, but she could only hope that she wouldn't become some mediocre actress that only became famous because of her flawless skin and pretty face. If she was going to get involved in this career, she wanted to do it right. She wanted to pour her heart and soul into doing believable acting. If this was how she was going to touch people across the globe, she wanted to be able to make them feel something through their television screens whenever they watched her. Now, of course she was going to have to take a few boring, overused roles because she was just making a name for herself, but one day she wanted to be a name that you would remember for years after she was gone. "Hm... Yeah, I guess you could call me a nomad. Looks like you'll be joining the lifestyle for a little while. Maybe I'll get to take you some place you've never been before." A small smile tugged at the corners of her mouth as she looked over to him. It had been brought to her attention that Edward was only a temporary bodyguard, so at some point she imagined he'd be switched out for someone else. That pulled at her heart a little bit because she wasn't sure she'd be okay with letting him go after how well this was going, but she supposed that wasn't her decision to make. All she could do was make the best of the time she was given with them.
The brunette snorted and rolled her eyes in response to his comment. She'd grown up always being the little one. Everyone had always looked down on her. Not in a bad way really, but she had been severely underestimated because of how quiet and small she really was. Many probably believed that she was going to stay tucked away in her small little hometown forever. And maybe she would have, but things happened and she never had the chance to find a steady job to keep her anchored to her home. Instead the little girl who could 'fit in everyone's pocket' was starting to see her face all over the corners of every city she went to. "It doesn't feel wrong at all. Just new. I'm still trying to get used to having so many people recognize who I am. I mean... just a few years ago I could hardly get the teachers to remember who I was." Katie shook her head some but smiled fondly at the memory. No one ever had a hard time remembering who Nina was, but when it came to her baby sister Katie... well, that's where people stopped caring. Her sister always had the spotlight on her. Or... well, she used to anyway. Now the roles were reversed and she could sense some resentment coming from her sister's end because of it. "She always knew the best way to get people to do what she thought was best for them." Her sister was definitely the pushy kind of person, but that wasn't to say she was cruel or mean. She just had this obsession with popularity and being known. That's all that ever seemed to really matter to her, especially now that she didn't have all the attention she used to in high school and college. "Oh shoot! You're right. I totally forgot!" Shaking her head again, Katie rose from her seat after taking his hand, but she got up a little too quickly and made herself dizzy enough to stumble into him. Katie put her other hand on his shoulder to steady herself. "Oh... sorry. Got up a little too quickly... but yes, um, we shall." A blush crept over her cheeks, almost feeling the warmth of his breath because of how close her tumble had brought them. After a moment she remembered herself, blushed a little more, and let her hand fall away. "Lead the way?" |
