24 male polysexual math teacher

eli is easily one of my favorite characters to play, but i haven't really brought him to many sites. he has a lot of dynamics fueling his thoughts and actions, and he's very sensitive to his surroundings. there are some events that happened in his childhood that are pretty serious, but only a few other people besides himself know about it. one thing that most people know, is that he lost his wife and daughter to an accident. that pretty much destroyed him, but he's been recovering as best as he can. he's very sweet, and tries to show the world as much compassion as possible. which is why he loves teaching. he is enthusiastic about it, and pretty darn good at math, so he teaches multiple levels of junior and senior level high school math courses. he's the type of teacher who you could go to about anything: bad day, good day, something funny happened, he genuinely wants to hear about the things going on in other people's lives. he has undiagnosed ocd (undiagnosed meaning, he doesn't think he has it and doesn't really recognize his behavior as such.) he seems very fragile, and he believes that he is as well. so eli needs as many plots as he can get.
FRIENDS will be difficult to find, but probably easy enough to keep. he doesn't really trust many strangers, and he's very timid. he will, however, start conversations. because of his interest in everything, he wants to get to know people, even if he'll never see them again. he will compliment anyone, and tries to do it at least once a day. he wants people to feel warm and loved, but he often neglects himself and his own needs. which means, in a friend, he needs someone who will make him slow down. he has no self-value. when compliments are returned, he ducks his head and doesn't believe them. he needs people who have enough patience to be able to handle someone like that, and who don't mind resting a hand on his shoulder and taking care of him themselves. he'll put up a fight, and despite his gentle nature, he is very stubborn. excruciatingly stubborn. so, he's a lot to deal with, but if you are his friend, you will be adored.
ENEMIES once again, please do not mistake eli's gentleness and fragility for someone who let's themselves be walked over. yes, he will let someone walk all over him if he feels like they need to. he will let himself be an emotional (or even physical) punching bag for any one who needs it, if he thinks it will make them feel better. but he was a father once. he is a teacher. he will not take any shit he feels like he does not deserve. most of the time, his anger is expressed very passive aggressively, and he probably isn't very physically intimidating. but if he feels like someone he loves is threatened, he will probably loose his control and self restraint. he does not get physical - unless it is extreme emotions we're talking about, but he will find a way to solve the situation. he does not feel the need to resort to an eye for an eye, or "getting even." god, i don't even really know how to explain just how he handles his anger, it depends so much on the person and the situation at hand. so if you have an idea, let me know and we can work that out. but yeah. it would be fun.
LOVERS, phew - alrighty. first of all, he's pretty much sexually stunted/repressed. there are reasons for this, but the character itself is very hush hush about them. second of all, he isn't really on the look out for any new lovers, due to his wife's death. that doesn't mean plots for relationships are impossible, in fact, i encourage them. i could go on and on in psychological depth and detail about how he views sex and romance in unconventional ways, and even crosses over into platonic boundaries. but i won't, because i'll ramble and no one will read my plotter. basically, eli is polyamorous/polysexual. he loves people for who they are, so i think plots could be really interesting with this. as long as you don't mind long, dragged out plots that is. seriously, please let me know if you have any ideas or things you want to work out for him! maybe a bunch of people have a crush on him and he has no idea, maybe he doesn't realize he has a crush on a bunch of people - i don't know! the options are endless!
