He is well and truly a charmer using his charisma and charms to con people, for money, cars, free drink. He even conned his landlord into letting him have another person stay at his place. It is very hard to figure out if he is serious or not, he is a flirt and loves the ladies so watch out. He has commitment issues though and very often doesn't stick to one person. Unless there is a definite spark. Gideon is a chameleon and can blend in anywhere and everywhere, he can slip in and out of places virtually unnoticed. He's a blender and stays in the back ground as much as possible, he's not yet been charged for his crimes and doubts he will. Gideon's friendly, talkative and cocky personality is really just a smokescreen for some emotional difficulties. He has very low self-esteem and although social doesn't actually form any bonds with people. He keeps everyone at an arms length forming no attachment. His commitment issues extend to friends as well, he doesn't have anybody and tends to isolate himself which doesn't help.He has had many one night stands and short lived relationships purely because he doesn't like when things get to comfortable, it usually means something bad will happen. He is Sly, Manipulative and sneaky, he can lift wallets, phones and handbags without the person ever having a clue. He is also pretty talkative and can talk him himself out of many situations when he needs to. He is also the most stubborn person you will ever meet. He has a gritty determination to get done what needs to be done and nothing or no one will stop him. Although never settling he does want a family and unlike his father he isn't going to walk out on his kids, when he has them. So he's basically a smooth criminal you won't see coming. Aside from her there was the neighbours daughter called Mia, he met her officially when he was eight, she was six. They were fast friends and pretty close till she moved away when he was twelve. FIRST LOVE (small paragraph): Gideon's first love was his High School nurse called Abigail. He met her when he was fifteen and he'd gotten pretty beat up in a fight. Needless to say he ended up in the nurses office a lot. She was the school nurse till he dropped out in his senior year FIRST MEMORY: Waking up from an afternoon nap, with his Grandmother's homebaked brownies waiting for him and his little sister. BEST MEMORY: His favourite memory would be the days he spent on the roof of their apartment building with his sister watching the sun rise over New York. The city that never sleeps. WORST MEMORYWatching as his sister was taken away from thier family, she was kicking and screaming and it broke his heart. HISTORY (overview): •Who would get an eighteen year old pregnant? Then leave, return, get the same now twenty year old pregnant and then vanished. Gideon's father, that's who. Gideon doesn't know anything about his Dad other than he is famous and rich. His mother won't say who it is. His mother didn't want a child at eighteen but that's how she ended up. Gideon was going on two when his father came back, Gideon didn't remember it but his mother truly believed he would stay this time. He did for long enough to get her pregnant again and when he found out, he was gone again. • Gideon's mother was young and inexperienced, she had a kid before she'd finished her studies and another on the way. She did the best she could to raise the kids, but it wasn't cheap living in New York and she was a single mother. She had to work long hours to pay for the rent of their two bed apartment. It wasn't easy when they were young and she had to rely on her mother to watch the kids while she worked. His mother never could connect with him, he was born before she even knew herself. How could she? • Gideon's mother was struggling to keep her family afloat and eventually turned to alcohol as a coping method when he was ten. She has lost her job the week of his tenth birthday. • Gideon spent a lot of time on the streets of New York, with his sister and best friend. He learned how to steal, fight and pickpocket. He kept him and his sister alive while his mother drank her money away. • Gideon quickly learnt not to trust anybody and don't get to close people. He'd began isolating himself in an attempt of self-preservation, this was all hidden under a mask of confidence, charm and smiles. • When Gideon was twelve the social services came to their house after someone contacted them with concerns for the well-being of the children, they gave his mother two week to clean up her act or they would take the kids. The day before the social services came it was clear his mother hadn't bothered so Gideon gathered a few things, took his sister and they ran. He wasn't going to let them be split up. He didn't get far the next day the children were found. They attempted to run but the social worked got hold of Celeste before she could get far and another got a hold of him. He tried to get to his sister but she was put in a car and that's the moment Gideon freed himself from the grasp of the social worker and ran. He never saw his sister again. • It was only a day before the Social Services caught up to Gideon again. This time they made sure he couldn't run. They took him to a care home, he spent most of his teen years running, from foster homes, group homes and later from the police. He never settled because he didn't want to, his aggressive and stubborn nature made that he was very quickly passed through foster homes totalling 12. • A few of the foster homes were verbally abusive and this made Gideon's already low self-esteem plummeted again. He was in his senior year of highschool when he'd had enough, he bought a gun, stole a car drove out of New York • Since the day he left New York he's been around a bit. He stole things to get money and he picked up a few bits and bobs of Mechanics here and there. He spent four years in California where he learnt to surf. He made his living coning tourists and the rich out of hundreds of dollars. It took the police five years to figure him out but he was already long gone and he wasn't commiting major fraud so they didn't spend resources on chasing a conman. • He came back to New York when he was 24 after leaving California he went did a bit of a road trip before returning to his home. He knew that it was easy to get lost in a city as big as this and that was what he wanted. He found a cosy apartment which he now rents, he found a job as a mechanic nearby. The owner of the workshop had slept with Gideon's Mum when he was still in New York and so their is a mutual hate between the two. • He is blending into New York quiet well, its big enough that if anyone knew his as a kid he was likely never to see them again. He is secretly happy to be somewhere familiar, it's not home, he's never considered anywhere home but it was familiar and comfortable. • He's recently found out that his mother cleaned up her act after they'd been taken away. She married a rich lawyer and is now working as a Nurse. His sister he found out was now attending university and doing very well. He suspects she's got a boyfriend and he wants to punch the lights out of the guy. • He's being very careful to stay out of trouble, he knows that one mistake can end up with him in prison. He still pickpockets but less so and he still cons people but its for little things rather than massive amounts of anything. |
