BECAUSE THESE WORDS ARE KNIVES THAT OFTEN LEAVE SCARS, THE FEAR OF FALLING APART

Cyrus S. Paisley,

wow, are you my ...i completely lost track of time! well please sit sit, let me just move this stuff out of the way. okay, let's get started. tell me a little bit about yourself. cyrus wasn't so sure about this whole interview he had scheduled for today. his boss was having all the strippers go through the motions of answering questions and all that nonsense. really, he didn't see much of a point to it but maybe they were making cuts to the staff or something. honestly, he had no idea. all he knew what that he had never been the best at talking without stammering and stumbling over everything he said. hopefully that wouldn't play against him in this particular interview. "oh hello! that's fine. don't worry about it really. i'm a pretty messy person too." the twenty-three year old smiled sheepishly at the woman as she practically shoved everything off her desk just as he walked in. the room itself was quite small but nice, and she was a woman with a very pretty face. perhaps she even looked a little familiar... maybe someone at a party he had danced at. "anyway, my uh, my name is cyrus samuel paisley. i'm twenty-three, my birthday is december fourth and uh... well, i'm a stripper." he reached a hand back to rub his neck, a nervous tick of his. there wasn't a dull moment in his job, that was for sure, but it was always a little uncomfortable when he was explaining to someone what exactly it was that he did for a living. "i know what you're probably thinking but... it's a good job. i have a lot of fun with it and, yeah. keeps me in shape at least?" a small smile and blush decorated his face as they moved onto the next prompt. that's a lot of information. so tell me, where are you from? cyrus felt like reaching back to touch his neck again, but he denied himself the chance to give into the nervous tick and instead kept his stiffly placed in his lap, tightly folded together. "well, i was born in miami. can't really tell you what brought me to move here. i was just sort of wandering around for a while after high school. lived in the city for a while but i wanted to live somewhere a little quieter. so now here i am. a nice little town not too far from the city and my job. worked out pretty well i'd say." at this point he was metaphorically slapping himself in the face because he really had no idea what he was even saying at this point. he was just rambling on about a bunch of nonsense and that probably didn't make him look very good. just another illiterate stripper. ahh fascinating ! well i'm from here, born and raised, never left. so many people that i know and love here, just couldn't leave them ! what about you? anyone you care dearly for here? when she commented on her own roots, he smiled politely in her direction and nodded his head a little. "it's a very lovely town next to a beautiful city. i can understand why you never left." cyrus had rather enjoyed living in miami himself, as it was a beach city fully of lively people just looking to have a good time and take their clothes off, which was exactly what he was all about... even though he might not appear like it right now. but i mean, who didn't like booze and getting naked? "i mean, sure i have friends around here that i love dearly, but i'm still pretty new to the area so my list of contacts is pretty low." he shrugged his shoulders lightly in response. his coworkers were always a good time, but he didn't have any family here or anyone he would necessarily call his best friend. it was a little bit of a lonely life, but he was always meeting new people so the time to dwell on it was usually pretty short. quite a list. must mean you have a juicy past ,let's hear a little bit about it. his brow furrowed in slight confusion because he was pretty sure that he'd just told her he hardly knew anyone around here... but apparently that was somehow 'quite a list'. cyrus thought on this a moment, then let it roll off his shoulders because he wasn't all that concerned with it either way. what was more alarming had to be the question she presented him with. she was staring at him expectantly, waiting eagerly on the edge of her seat for him to give her the story of his history. nervously, the man bit at his lower lip because he wasn't quite sure how to go about telling it to her. he didn't usually make a habit of talking about his family. not because it was exceptionally tragic or anything. cyrus was just a very reserved, very personal person who didn't make a habit of going around to everyone he met and telling him of all the woes he faced in life. "well, i grew up in miami like i said... and my parents were married. first they had me, then a few years later they had my baby sister, alaya. she was a pretty cute baby. always so smiley and energetic. we grew up being the best of friends." growing up in his family had been a pretty easy thing. his parents were so loving and open and accepting and they adored both their children. weekends were full of trips to the beach and summers often led them to the magical world of disney. his family consisted of great people who he would always hold close to his heart, but he had this urge to explore and venture from the nest a little bit, which brought him all the way out here. however, cyrus supposed that she would want a little more on his childhood or something before they could move on to the next question. "uh, school was alright. i'm not some sort of genius or anything, but it was alright enough. made my way through middle and high school, graduated, and hung around home for a little bit. my father died a short while after in some robbery gone wrong or something." he started to shift uncomfortably in his seat. and his skin. he didn't like thinking about all the sadness and depression that washed over his family when his father was unjustly murdered. his mother changed and his sister began struggling to keep everything together. he ran away out of fear, not capable of coping with the terrible loss and not knowing how to help his family. for a while there was some resentment because of it, but he and his sister were slowly starting to come back into communication with one another. "and yeah, after that i just sort of wandered around for a bit and that's how i got here."you just get more and more interesting. is that a word that someone would describe you as? no? then what is something that people would say you are. truth be told, cyrus wasn't all that sure what other people might have to say about him. he supposed the answers would depend on the type of people who were questioned. if you were to ask one of the women who hired him to work a party... well she would be most like to objectify him. to that woman, he would have been a good time. a hot man with a nice body and delicious tattoos painted all over his body. a man with a charming smile and hips that rolled better than any man's she had ever met before. though that was all good and true to some degree, other people who didn't know about his career would give a different response. they would say he was a sweet faced boy with a quiet voice and playful heart. they would say that he was very charming and likable, someone you could approach with ease and invite over for a weekend of sleepovers and chocolate whenever you were feeling down. "it's not like i can really speak for other people, but i think they would tell you that i'm an alright kind of person. at least that's what i try to be anyway. sometimes i'm not so good with words and y'know, sometimes i'm not the most social of people, but they would say i'm nice i think. and respectful. just a little quiet is all." well, quiet until you got to know him. then he had the potential to turn into this giggly, rowdy little thing that would be downing shots and bouncing off tables the second you stopped watching him. really just took him some time to make his way out of his shell and feel comfortable around the people he's with. do you agree with what people say about you? "not really. i mean, most of the stuff people say about me involve poorly made assumptions based off the fact that i'm a stripper. like, yeah i take my clothes off for a living but that doesn't mean i'm some mindless airhead who is only capable of getting by with their body. i just like my job. it's fun and lacks the seriousness confinement that an office job would. like, i'm not that kind of person. sometimes i stutter and stumble over my words, or i just don't say anything at all. that doesn't mean i'm a idiot though. i'm just quiet sometimes. a little afraid of judgment, y'know. like, i'm still a person. i still have feelings and thoughts and ideas too, right?" cyrus surprised even himself after he finished his little rant, having to sit back a moment and reign himself in so he didn't take that any further. but it was true. he didn't like the assumptions people made about him because of his job. just because he danced and provided people with some visual pleasure for an hour or two didn't mean he was a bad person or lacked the same intelligence that any other person might have. he had a good personality he felt, and he wished that people would take the time to get to know it more often. though... he supposed maybe he was a little at fault there too, considering he tended to be a little shy and awkward during first meeting encounters. but still. he didn't like to think that people thought lower of him because of what he did. well i still think you have a certain something, not really sure what that is but i bet your boyfriend/girlfriend knows or are you still on the market? he responded this question with a simple shrug. love was always hard for him. the women he dated usually took a genuine interest in him, but then later couldn't handle his job and would leave him out of their inability to deal with their jealousy. or they would just date him for a while because they thought he was hot and then be unsatisfied when he could give them the kinky rough sex they were expecting in bed. that was all just an act out on the dance floor. cyrus, though a playful lover, was also gentle and more of a romantic than a dominant. he loved everyone and really just wanted to find something sweet to get into. of course it hurt whenever something didn't work out, but he couldn't recall every falling totally in love with someone before. his first ended relationship hadn't even been that bad because he started to date his high school best friend for a while and they both just decided that it didn't feel right. maybe one day he would find his perfect match, but for now he was okay with being a bachelor and making one-night, drunken mistakes. shit, time flies. my next appointment will be here in a few minutes. it was a pleasure to meet you! "yes, it was absolutely lovely to meet you too. i'm glad we had this time today. have a wonderful rest of your evening." he smiled gently before rising from his seat and making way to leave the office building. that wasn't as bad as he anticipated, but he was ready to go home and catch a nap with his cat before heading off to work for another bachelorette party. |
